Cat and Ben’s wedding at the Regatta Inn in Folly Beach was an incredible finale to our 4 weddings in 9 days streak! Their energy was contagious and their joy for their day was so amazing to witness. Cat and Ben are two genuine, compassionate, and exuberant people. They truly light up any room and enjoy life to its absolute fullest.
These two met on the FIRST day of class at College of Charleston in an early morning math class. They both noticed each other, soon discovered that they were living on the same hall, became best friends, and started dating senior year. Right out of college, they had the opportunity to live on Folly Beach for a year, which brings us to the reason why the Regatta Inn was such a special place for them! Although they recently made the move to Texas, Folly Beach still holds a special place in their hearts. It was even more sentimental that all their family and friends joined them in Folly Beach to celebrate!
The Regatta Inn is situated on a waterfront property and we ADORED having all the boats in the background of their photos! We’ll never turn down photos on a dock either so we ventured out there twice! It was cloudy for a majority of their day which was a huge blessing considering the heat and lack of shade. The dark clouds in the distance made for some great contrast in photos and the occasional sun peaking through hit that water just perfectly! Looking at these photos we’re getting all the coastal Charleston vibes, but also some New England harbor vibes and tropical beach vibes?? All the best places!
We’ve really lucked out with some blue-loving couples this year! Cat’s bridesmaids wore a beautiful shade of dusty blue and her details hinted at it too! We were also big fans of Cat’s dress which just happened to be the FIRST dress she tried on and bought off the rack!! I mean, it was literally MADE for her! After some getting ready portraits in the beautiful top room of the Regatta Inn (with an AMAZING view), she and Ben shared a first look!! Ben’s reaction was precious and they both took time to share vows with each other before starting the rest of the day. Taking “moments” during the day to breathe, talk, and take it all in is so important!
Cat had originally told us that all she wanted was a boujee backyard wedding, just not in their backyard! 😉 They got those intimate, backyard feels at the Inn with views that set it apart from any other venue! We loved all the perspectives we had from the different stories and staircases. Cat and Ben chatted with all the guests, made it onto the dance floor, and laughed the entire day. We are so honored that we got to y’all’s photographers!
