It feels *almost* impossible to describe how much we loved every SECOND of Elisabeth & Jordan’s Charleston wedding at the William Aiken House!! We first met Liz & Jordan in October for their engagement session and learned just how genuine and enthusiastic these two are! Anyone who meets them would immediately love them! They’re trusting, they’re FUN, they’re full of joy, and they love each other hard. They’re down for any idea and never stop laughing.
Liz told us at their engagement session that the first time she saw Jordan, she knew she was going to marry him. We would whole heartedly agree that these two were meant to be together because their love is so evident! Jordan proposed while they were doing fall photos with their pups, Tito and Ryder. It was a hot fall day so Liz bought a couple new dresses to wear, one of which happened to fit the occasion perfectly because it was white 😉 She wore the white dress, and Jordan pulled off the best surprise of their lives, even despite Liz’s friend calling on the way to the photo shoot and suggesting that maybe Jordan was proposing! When we hung out in October, Liz told us how she was trying to convince Jordan that she needed a puppy as a wedding gift…Aiken the Saint Bernard joined the family a month ago and although the puppies couldn’t come from Minnesota for their destination wedding, you’ll see that they made an appearance on the cake!!
Liz and Jordan are Minnesota residents, but have deemed Charleston their favorite place, and it was top of the list when wedding plans began. The William Aiken House couldn’t have been a better location! With it being ON King Street, we were immersed in the Charleston hustle, but set apart enough to celebrate these two privately. Although there were definitely some excited onlookers at times!! 😉 The thing we love the most about the William Aiken House is the opportunities for ALL the fun angles! Whether it was an elevated view of the ceremony, a balcony to shoot portraits from, or the amazing architecture to incorporate into shots, our creativity was flowing in this space!
Besides the STUNNING backdrops and their amazing vendor team (looking at you Linda + team! And you too, Alan!), Liz and Jordan are what made the day an absolute blast. We got to spend 11 hours with them and it certainly wasn’t enough!! They were our hype people, we were their’s, and it made our job feel the farthest thing from a job! Celebrating with friends is more like it!
After their friends gave toasts (one of our favorite parts of the evening!), Jordan did a toast to his bride and thanked all the vendors individually and our hearts overflowed at that point! The thoughtfulness that these two encompass is evident and brought us to tears as Jordan recognized all of Liz’s planning and named each vendor who was a part of their day. You two just make us feel so loved!!
Our finale of cute photos for the day were late-night flash photos on the stairs. Liz sent us her inspiration for this a few months ago and we immediately saw the vision!! These two put all the Pinterest photos to shame…guess that means they’ll need a permeant spot on Pinterest themselves ASAP!
Mr. and Mrs. Prohaska, y’all better come back to Charleston SOON! You know it’ll be calling your name!! And we want y’all in front of our cameras again! We love y’all!
