We met Liz and William in Charleston on September 12th, 2021, not knowing that we’d be documenting their WEDDING DAY on September 17th, 2022. We loved taking their engagement photos last year, so when their original photography plans fell through and we connected with them again, we knew it was a change that was meant to happen!
They got married on Saturday in Lexington, Kentucky at Zorro Events, on the most sunniest, beautiful September day you could dream of! Because there was limited shade, we ended up rounding up the entire wedding party and taking a small trek up the hill to the shaded woods along the fence line! Not only was it shaded, but this spot was beautiful and felt “Kentucky!” Shoutout to their wedding party for willing to do anything for the photos!!
Speaking of their wedding party, yes, they had a party of twenty-five! With William’s sixteen groomsmen, and Liz’s nine bridesmaids, it was the biggest wedding party we’ve photographed! We made sure to make a solid plan beforehand about who was standing where, and it turned out great!! 😉
Can we take a moment and talk about Liz & William’s classic details?? Liz’s pearl robe was SO much fun, and y’all already know we love her Dolce Vita shoes (I have a pair myself in my closet ;))! William’s cuff links and monogram on his suit was so awesome too. Oh, and his custom shoes! His groomsmen had custom shoes as well!
Their day has been a decade in the making and it all started at the University of Kentucky! You better believe there was some hints of blue throughout the day and lot’s of cheers to the Cats. Lexington was where it all started for Liz and William so it was fitting that they started a new chapter there and can now say it’s a place that brought so many of their friends together!
These two are well loved and well respected and if we needed any confirmation of that, their friends’ toasts to the newly weds did just that. Liz and William have been an influential part of so many people’s lives already and now they get to continue to do so as the Axtells! Congratulations, y’all! It was an honor to come to Kentucky for your wedding day! See y’all in SC for anniversary photos??
