Ever since we met Mary Catherine and Matt for the first time we have been looking forward to documenting their wedding at the Champion Hills Club! We somehow didn’t scare them off after hiding in the bushes to photograph their proposal 😉 We’re so honored to have captured two important days in their lives!! Matt and Mary Catherine are both so very sweet. So many friends and family came to celebrate them and it was clear how loved these two are!
We had an unexpected downpour the whole afternoon. On the radar, the storm appeared to be small and we thought it would move out quickly. That wasn’t the case and their ceremony had to be transitioned inside. However, you may not even be able to tell in these photos that rain wasn’t in the original plan for the day! Some gorgeous flowers and greenery made their new ceremony spot just as elegant. We had two covered areas to work with for portraits in the afternoon and we made the best of those spaces and they worked so well. God answered our prayers and we had 45 minutes after the ceremony without rain to take their bridal party outside (22 people weren’t fitting under that carport haha!) and do their portraits!!
We met Mary Catherine’s mom and sister, Margaret, at her bridal session (which y’all will see soon! Get excited because those photos are stunning!!) and meeting the rest of her family was so fun! Her grandfather officiated the service and he and his wife hardly left the dance floor at their reception! Matt’s parents helped us coordinate their proposal and it was so great to see them again and meet his siblings. We felt so welcomed the whole day by their families’ kindness!
Mary Catherine had multiple meaningful details included in her wedding which we loved photographing. Her veil was passed down from her mom, and her sapphire ring was her grandmother’s! She also carried a handkerchief that belonged to her great-grandmother. So many special people were a part of their day in so many different ways!
All the southern details were our favorite!! Keep an eye out for all the bows on the bridesmaids’ dresses, their elegant invitation suite, and their watercolor crest that made it onto signs and wedding favors! We’re obsessed!
Although parts of the day may have been adjusted, everything fell into place! These two are married and we couldn’t be happier for them!!
