Lacey & Christian’s wedding day in Bluffton at the Oldfield River Club was amazing! These two are the most easy-going people you’ll meet and were down for whatever. Christian told us multiple times, “we’ll take as many photos as you want!” And that automatically guarantees some epic portraits!
We photographed Lacey’s bridal session a couple months ago during a thunderstorm (it was POURING) and we knew their wedding day would be our chance to capture the Spanish moss and beautiful scenery that Lacey had been envisioning! Not that her bridal portraits on the back porch weren’t beautiful, but the landscape at Oldfield definitely needed it’s own moment!! The marsh views and docks had us squealing the whole day and we were beyond thankful for a gorgeous day!
We started the day at Oldfield photographing Lacey’s details. We ended up incorporating an oyster shell that we had picked up from Beaufort for a ring shot when we did their engagement session in April! We knew when we saw their oyster bar that it would bring some of the elements of their day together for the flat lay! And it was extra special that her engagement ring had already been photographed on it previously. See if you can find that photo in the engagement session blog post 😉
We first noticed Lacey and Christian’s natural ability to pose at their engagement session, and were immediately reminded of it when we started portraits on their wedding day! They can rock the serious expressions, but also have the best smiles, and just look at the way Christian looks at Lacey!! As soon as Christian stepped into their Low Country Valet bus and glanced down at Lacey we knew that image would be a favorite!
Their day ended with an incredible dance party under a tent on the back lawn with DJ Wade doing a phenomenal job!! We’re not exaggerating when we say their reception was the most hype party ever. The dance floor was packed, DJ Wade was just as invested as every person there, and we didn’t even glance at the time for hours! We’ve never been more entertained!! And believe us, after being at way too many weddings where all the songs are played all the way through, those 30-second song changes were a welcome surprise! 😉
We are so excited to share these photos with y’all and in disbelief that this day has come and gone! It was incredible and we are honored that we were the ones who got to document it! Mr. & Mrs. Julian, y’all are the best!!
