Stephanie & James’ Bluffton wedding was the perfect end to a few months full of weddings! And while our summer weddings aren’t over yet, we made it through our biggest wedding weekend streak of the year! What an amazing few months!!
Although we’re huge Charleston & Beaufort fans, we had not made our way down to Bluffton until this past weekend. It’s an adorable area!! We started the day just outside of historic Bluffton at an AirBnB where Stephanie was getting ready. We ALWAYS vote AirBnBs for getting ready because nine times out of ten they have much more space and natural light than hotel rooms! This house was no exception! Bluffton brides, take note! 😉
Both Stephanie and James are laid back and trusting. Although we had only met Stephanie before their wedding day, they trusted all our photography decisions and were so relaxed the whole day! We LOVE chill wedding days with lots of time to take it all in, lot’s of laughter, and no stress. That’s exactly how their wedding day went! Stress-free days are wonderful!
Jacqueline photographed Stephanie while she got ready, and Laura hopped over to the Old Town Bluffton Inn to photograph James and his groomsmen. The funny thing is, when you hire photographers who are twins, you get two people who think *almost* identically…even when it comes down to creativity! When you scroll down, you’ll see a mirror photo of Stephanie as she got ready, and one of James. No, we had no idea we were both taking those photos. And what makes it even better? They were only taken two minutes apart!!
Stephanie and James’ first look took place at a friend’s house in Belfair with a beautiful view of the marsh! Originally, Stephanie had envisioned the marsh behind them, but because of the mid-afternoon light, we opted to do it on the front driveway (we’re spilling the secrets! You’d never know it was the driveway right??) where there was shade and they could take in the moment without sweating in the bright sun! It was a still stunning background and the location had the *perfect* light for photos 😉
We still incorporated the marsh into some photos while embracing the direct sun for a few and then strategically blocking out the harsh sun for some variety. We love how these turned out and Stephanie’s vibrant bouquet added a statement to all of them which we are loving!
Stephanie and James got married at Lowcountry Presbyterian church which had some lovely natural light inside and then we went to the Oak Terrace at Rose Hill for their reception! Both were surrounded by gorgeous oak trees with Spanish moss and made our photographer hearts SO happy. We love the Lowcountry!!
Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Shelley!!
