A few weeks ago our family went on a weekend trip to Amelia Island, Florida! We were hoping for some sunshine, 70 degree weather, and maybe some time enjoying the beach. Unfortunately, all we got was pouring rain and just ONE afternoon where the sun *almost* appeared for a few minutes. We’re not salty at all…

Don’t be fooled by everyone wearing shorts, we only wore them for about an hour (and honestly when are the boys NOT we’re shorts?? Nothing new for them). However, despite the weather, we still got to do what we really came for…⁣

We went to celebrate our great-grandpa’s 90th birthday!! Yes, you read that right, he’s turned 90! Our family got together and threw him a party and he loved every second of it. We had been planning this short trip ever since the summer because we wanted to celebrate with him and we were so glad we did! The joy he had seeing everyone together and celebrating him was worth the every mile and every inch of rain LOL! You won’t want to miss the balloon photos at the end of this post!!

Naturally, we’re only MORE excited for summer and a trip to the beach when it’s hot. North Florida isn’t exactly the tropical vibes we were hoping for. Scenic as always, but definitely not the same as in July 🙂 So we’ll be back! We’re planning for our summer beach trip and can hardly wait for the warm days to stick around!
