Marina & Aaron’s destination wedding in Hood River, Oregon, brought many people (including us) across the country for a phenomenal celebration. Nestled in Hood River along the Columbia River Gorge, the Griffin House boasts breathtaking views along with (usually) wild wind. With the expectations for a windy day, vendors and guests were prepared for gusty weather, but shockingly, Marina and Aaron’s day barely had a breeze, which seemed fitting for the calm presence their personalities provided. While we dodged rain showers that passed through the gorge every twenty to thirty minutes, the views that resulted when the clouds parted were a thousand times worth it.

Marina’s vision for a private aisle moment as their first look came to life during a break in the rain, and we LOVED it. It was a perfect preview for her walk down the aisle later in the day, but a beautiful moment for the two of them to soak in the hours of celebration ahead of them.
Marina & Aaron shared heartfelt vows under the shelter of the tree while the rain rolled past, followed by some portraits that had our creative, mountain-loving hearts skipping a beat! These two got married here simply for the views so we knew they had to be fully captured!
After portraits, Marina and Aaron hid inside and Aaron found himself at the piano bench, as Marina had predicted earlier in the day. Self-taught, Aaron played some favorite pieces as we all listened in awe and took in this peaceful moment. It was serene and candid, and we were all for it.
Outside, guests began arriving and the fashion did not disappoint for this black-tie-optional wedding!
Just minutes after Marina walked down the aisle with her father, the raindrops started falling. The ceremony was to remain outside, rain or shine because they were there to get married with the views, after all! The images that resulted are all-time favorites and the guests went along with the weather, unfazed. Right on queue, the sun peaked back out as they were pronounced Mr. & Mrs.!
Each guest was given a personalized cocktail, previously chosen based on preference, with their name and seating assignment. This unique and personal touch was so special!
An energetic party followed for this destination wedding in Hood River and we couldn’t keep the smiles off our faces as we photographed it!!
