If there were more Chick-fil-A’s up north, I’m pretty sure we would considering moving to Maine. Oh, and if Laura and I liked lobster we might fit in a little better as northerns too 🙂  In all seriousness though, we do love the south and wouldn’t be able to leave the ridiculous (but usually warm) SC weather and the southern living!

If you haven’t heard already, we love Maine, the water and all things coastal. We’ll take any opportunity we can get to go up to the northeast!

It worked out for us to go in August and we skipped a week of school…senior year allows you to do that right?! Our grandparents graciously let us stay with them and not only that, but they fed us excellent food and gave all their knowledge on all the possible places for sights and adventure! They also attempted to convince us to eat clams, oysters and scallops…that might take a couple more years haha! While we were in New England, we got our holy donuts, went to our share of islands and also ventured out of the state for an adventure in New Hampshire!

Anyone who goes to New Hampshire needs to hit the Kancamagus highway for SURE! You also need to take the ski lift to the top of Cannon Mountain! It was a gorgeous clear day and the views were stunning! We drove along the Kancamagus highway (no, I’m not making this name up! Promise.) and found a perfect picnic spot next to the river.

A few more highlights from the trip, were Barters Island at sunset, blueberry picking at in the pouring rain (also they had a golf carts to drive us around soooo that was cool) and paddle boarding with a L.L. Bean tour!
