Saturday was our first wedding back after Laura & Alan’s wedding and after a small hiatus from weddings in July, and we were really looking forward to it!! We absolutely love being a part of every one of our couple’s wedding days, and it makes us so, so happy when our couples value us being there just as much! Maddie and Michael immediately made us feel welcomed and appreicated, and that’s all we could possibly ask for!
Maddie is a JLP bride at the core. She’s sooo organized but didn’t stress about anything on the day off. She’s been responding to our stories and posts for months since they booked, so we knew she appreciated our approach to documenting wedding days with all the different perspectives and angles of special people, which just made us so happy!! And she sure knows how to put together a box of details for us to photograph!! I mean, her Kate + Mari earrings and Something Bleu shoes (that are basically our whole brand in shoe-form) had us squealing!! Give us all the blue and all the bows, all the time!! Michael compliments her perfectly with his relaxed nature (we had a good laugh about how in every relationship there is usually someone who is type-a and someone who goes with the flow…we see it all the time! Gotta have that balance!). Together they are so trusting, so genuine, and made our job SO much fun. We loved celebrating them for a day that was many years in the making!!
We started the day on Isle of Palms, at a beautiful Air BnB that was one block from the beach! If you’re having a coastal wedding, starting the day with those views is always a good idea! Maddie is one of four girls in their family and we had the BEST time with these four ladies and their sweet mom. All of them were a part of Maddie’s getting ready photos, which was quite possibly one of our favorite parts of the whole day. There were some happy tears, lots of laughs, and the sweetest smiles exchanged!
We headed over to the Creek Club at I’on for the remainder of the day, where we photographed all the bridesmaids, Michael and his groomsmen, reception details, and prepared for their ceremony! We love cermeonies at the Creek Club at I’on because the set-up allows us to get allll the angles. From the first-look moment, to parents and grandparents, and celebrations afterwards, it’s definitely a photography friendly space and it allows for some absolutely amazing moments.
It may have been the most hot and humid wedding day this year, but that hardly mattered! The rain miraculously held off until all important outdoor events were complete, and we swapped sunset photos for some super fun flash photos on the porch…which is quite possibly our new favorite thing!! Sign us up for more of that!
We’re already wishing we could do this day all over again because it was THAT fun!! Maddie and Michael, we loved every second of it and are wishing y’all the best!!
