A Charleston Celebration for Lis & Cole
The Best of Spring for a Wingate Place Wedding : Blue Skies, A Bursting Color Palette, & an Energetic Dance Floor

Lis & Cole had the Wingate Place wedding day that every single couple hopes for. Looking back on these images reminded us just how effortlessly the day flowed, how sweet the reactions were, how incredible their reception design was, and just how much of a party they + their guests had! Not only was the energy high, but it was one of those days where the weather never even crossed your mind. The temperature was perfect and the skies were clear!

The incredible vendor team!

Setting the Scene: A calm & charming Lowcountry venue | Set a part from downtown, Wingate Place holds the Charleston charm without the bustle of downtown. This is a venue you arrive to and notice the still and calming atmosphere.

A vibrant start to the day | During a time of year where everything is coming back to life, this color palette felt like a creative revival. We loved that Lis wanted to set the stage for a colorful day by adding color to her invitation.

The Color of 2026: Butter Yellow | These ladies pulled it off so well! From a morning champagne toast on the porch to dance floor energy at the end of the night, yellow was the statement for this bridal party!

A walk down the aisle | If every bride could learn one thing from Lis, it’s this: walk the aisle twice if you want. The mindset to take a few minutes to yourself, soak in the details you’ve envisioned coming to life, and embrace the beauty of the day makes the entire day more special.

The pivotal moment of wedding mornings: The Dress | There is a distinct energy shift on every single wedding day when the bride realizes it is finally time to put on her dress. Nothing makes reality set in (in the best way!) than the feeling that you’re officially ready to see your groom and walk down the aisle!

A first look with dad + a first look with her groom | Both deeply significant in their own ways. Both had everyone watching in tears!

Dad & his girls | We love the people of weddings. Documenting our bride and groom is our ultimate goal but capturing their people goes hand in hand. This day had so many sweet family moments!

Caught in the moment | Sometimes you look over and see a layer of moments and it makes you stop what you’re doing. Lis, off to the side watching as the groomsmen took their photos, with her parents watching from behind and admiring their bride.

A ceremony space brought to life | A lot can be said for natural beauty. The curve of the oak tree branch and the low-hanging Spanish moss made this the obvious choice for the ceremony. However, it was made even more beautiful by Toujours Events’ eye for design + Tulips & Twigs’ florals!

In the waiting | The moments of anticipation are what make weddings so exciting. The guests are arriving, there is a soft breeze blowing, the music is playing, everyone is admiring the views and finding their seats.

The cocktail hour feeling | Let’s talk about it — The ceremony is complete, your guests are mingling, the stress is low and the happiness is high, and grandpa is giving you a spin while admiring your dress!

No one needs a four-color wedding color palette | Take it or leave it, but we’re here to say that the more colors, the more hues, the more patterns, & the more textures the better. Callie, Ellen, & their team absolutely brought this reception design to life!

A modern twist on golden hour | If there is the opportunity to run off the dance floor for a few direct-flash photos with the oak trees and the fading evening sun, our vote is always yes!

When dad steals a seat | The moment when dad ends up next to your groom at the sweetheart table is one that definitely should be captured.

The party is started and no one is leaving! | This crowd had themselves a party and it was too much fun to document!
