This Hampton Park maternity session with Elise & Jackson was a blast!! Even though we’re not local to Charleston, if often appears that we are from our social media because we share about it often…We absolutely love shooting there and some of our favorite work has been taken on the coast! When Elise first reached out to us about scheduling a session, we weren’t supposed to be in Charleston the weekend they were visiting so we sent some referrals for other photographers in the area. However, as soon as did so we received several other inquires for that same weekend and we decided to make a weekend trip down! We are SO happy things worked out the way they did and that we got to have these two in front of our cameras! All that to say, this was the first of many Charleston trips for 2023 & this session was a great way to start!
In the days leading up to their session, we spent way too many hours watching the radar and refreshing our weather apps because there was a very high chance of rain the day we were supposed to do their session. We ended up having to move their session to the following day, but it was 100% worth it when we saw the sun peaking out!! When in Charleston, crowds can be an issue so we usually encourage early morning sessions if we’re planning to shoot in a more popular area. It was definitely worth the earlier morning for this session because we caught the sun & missed the crowds!
Elise’s main vision for their maternity session was to capture the iconic Spanish moss covered trees. For anyone who wants this look for their photos our first suggestion is always Hampton Park! There is no end to pretty scenery here and there is abundant Spanish moss. These two are welcoming a baby girl in April & when we saw the pink flower petals on the steps of the gazebo we knew it would be the perfect subtle nod to the occasion!
Elise & Jackson – We are SO excited for you both!! Thank you again for choosing us to capture this special season for you!
