These two planned an iconic wedding weekend on Buck Island. A lot of couples are present on their wedding day, but not all of them truly experience it. Christy & Greg did. They soaked up every moment, every feeling of excitement, and were beyond happy to be together, on an island, with their friends and family. It is our favorite thing to watch our couples who have cared about the details for months, finally relinquish any worry about how the day will unfold and embrace getting married and having fun!
Most people can’t say that got married on an island…in fact, most people can’t even say they attended a wedding on an island. For Christy & Greg, they wanted to create a wedding day that was more than a ceremony and dinner. They wanted an experience for their guests, and catching a ferry was a great first start! Off the coast of Hilton Head is Buck Island and it was the chosen destination for Christy & Greg’s wedding day.
We spent the weekend with Christy & Greg + their people and believe that showcasing the entire experience will tell their story best. From Friday morning locating scouting on the island as the florists unloaded the barge, Greg as the boat captain with multiple trips out to the island, to a Friday night welcome party in Hilton Head, to an early morning back out to the island, it was a full weekend on the coast.

A pickup by the groom himself for a boat ride to the island, with Harbour Town in view behind. For us, wandering, scouting, envisioning, planning, and looking at light. For the florists, unloading their beautiful and precious cargo off the barge in preparation for wedding day!

Friday Night | Welcoming the guests in Hilton Head.
Ocean front views, pelicans overhead, and pure excitement as out of town guests arrived to Christy & Greg’s destination wedding weekend!

Saturday | A full day on the island.
Uncontainable excitement is really the only way to describe the feeling of this wedding day! Christy & Greg both love their people deeply and that was evident through the interactions with their guests and sweet moments with their families. The unique part of their weekend was having a private home primarily for the two of them & their families on the island. This meant the grandparents were present for a majority of the day which was incredibly special. They were able to see Christy in her dress for the first time, give Greg a hug, and watch as all the pre-ceremony events unfolded. Not only was the excitement high, but the vibes were high. Out on a palm tree-filled island, your guests have just arrived on a ferry and are walking up the dock, it’s almost time to officially get married, and then spend the evening having the party of a lifetime. No wedding day has ever felt quite like that!
