Raleigh gave us everything from open skyline views to blooming gardens to explore for Amber & Hinton’s engagement session! Dix Park had the stunning golden hour views of the city and a stop in downtown at the Capitol brought a sophisticated feel. Between the locations, we had a variety of architecture, crosswalks, wooded gardens, and summer blooms. Shooting their session on both digital + film was a priority, and the soft summer evening light photographed perfectly at all these locations. Film has a way of softening images & bringing out the rich color tones and it worked flawlessly!
Amber brought two stunning looks for the evening — a Jenny Yoo dress that complemented the downtown scenery perfectly, and an AJE dress that added a little more color once we made our way back outside the city. Texture + color + subtle patterns made their outfits contrast the backdrops so well.
Even though Raleigh isn’t home for Amber & Hinton now, it was the city that held a lot of memories throughout their relationship. We loved getting to head back to a place that was meaningful to them and document this part of their story there. Next stop is Georgia for a wedding weekend in Savannah!
